Biography

Henri is a highly experienced patent practitioner who has been with Office Freylinger for more than 20 years. He is a qualified of Luxembourg patent agent and European patent attorney. He is also professional representative before the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property and the European Union Intellectual Property Office, and registered with the French Patent and Trademark Office (INPI) and with the Belgian Patent Office (OPRI).

With a background in chemical engineering, and having previously worked as technical translator, Henri’s practice focuses on patent matters in the fields of chemistry, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, detergents, biochemistry, biology and genetics.

Henri’s work includes the creation and management of global patent portfolios, patent drafting and prosecution, advising on patentability, infringement and validity, freedom-to-operate analyses, patent strategy, portfolio management, and patent conflicts. He has extensive experience in contentious patent matters, including opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office, and has pleaded before Opposition Divisions and Boards of Appeal.

Henri also handles supplementary protection certificate (SPC) and pediatric SPC matters.

Having now retired from partnership, Henri remains associated with the firm as Of Counsel, providing strategic advice on selected matters within his fields of expertise.
